These Terms of Use govern your use of the PilotFishIQ app and PilotFishIQ website pages, operated by Wolf Labs LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using these services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use PilotFishIQ.

What PilotFishIQ does

PilotFishIQ is a marine decision-support tool. It evaluates available marine and weather information for a planned trip and presents a GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO recommendation, together with supporting information.

PilotFishIQ supports your assessment of a trip. It does not replace seamanship, navigation, official marine forecasts, or the judgment of the captain.

Recommendations and their limits

A GO recommendation does not guarantee that a trip is safe. CAUTION indicates that the analyzed conditions warrant additional review. NO-GO indicates that the analyzed conditions do not support the trip as planned.

Recommendations reflect the inputs, available information, and analysis at the time they are generated. They cannot account for every hazard, local condition, vessel issue, or change in weather. Scores and confidence indicators are not guarantees of safety or predictions of a trip’s outcome.

Conditions may differ from forecasts and may change after an analysis is completed. Missing warnings or unavailable data must not be interpreted as confirmation that no hazard exists.

Your responsibilities on the water

The captain remains responsible for deciding whether to depart, continue, change course, or cancel a trip.

Before departure and throughout the trip, independently assess current conditions, official forecasts and warnings, vessel condition and capabilities, fuel, equipment, crew readiness, and applicable rules. Maintain a proper lookout and use appropriate charts, navigation equipment, communications, and safety procedures.

Provide accurate trip and boat information. Incorrect or incomplete inputs can affect the results. Do not rely on PilotFishIQ as your sole source of information for a boating decision.

PilotFishIQ is not an emergency service and does not monitor your safety or arrange rescue. In an emergency, use appropriate marine emergency communications and contact the relevant authorities.

Maps and analytical routes

Maps and route lines in PilotFishIQ support environmental analysis. They are not navigation instructions or assurances that a route is passable.

Do not use an analytical route as a course to steer or as confirmation of safe water depth, under-keel clearance, channel access, bridge clearance, or freedom from obstructions. A displayed destination or analytical endpoint does not establish a safe approach to a harbor, marina, inlet, or shoreline.

Use current nautical charts, local information, and appropriate navigation equipment to plan and execute your actual passage.

Beta availability and third-party information

PilotFishIQ is currently in beta. Features may contain errors, change, become unavailable, or be discontinued. Updates may affect compatibility or locally stored information.

The service depends on external mapping, marine, weather, hosting, and distribution services. Information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. We do not guarantee continuous access, complete geographic coverage, or detection of every relevant condition.

Your use of Apple TestFlight and other distribution platforms is also subject to their applicable terms. These Terms of Use supplement, and do not replace, any applicable platform agreement or application license. See Apple’s TestFlight terms.

Acceptable use and ownership

You may use PilotFishIQ for lawful purposes in accordance with these terms and any applicable application license.

You must not interfere with the service, bypass access controls or usage limits, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated requests in a way that disrupts the service.

PilotFishIQ software, branding, and original content belong to Wolf Labs LLC or its licensors. Third-party maps, data, and other materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable terms. Using PilotFishIQ does not transfer ownership of these materials to you.

Nothing in these terms restricts activities or rights that applicable law or an applicable open-source license expressly permits.

Privacy and support

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use PilotFishIQ, participate in beta testing, or contact us.

Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PilotFishIQ is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable as the sole basis for any boating or navigation decision.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Wolf Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, PilotFishIQ, including lost profits or lost data.

These provisions do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence where applicable law prohibits such a limitation. They do not remove mandatory consumer rights.

Changes and access

We may update PilotFishIQ and these terms as the service develops. We will identify the latest revision by the date above and provide notice of material changes and obtain acceptance where required by applicable law. Changes will apply prospectively.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements, or service maintenance. You may stop using PilotFishIQ at any time.

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
